  • How much freezer space will I need?
    A good rule of thumb is 1 cubic foot of freezer space for every 35 - 40 pounds of meat. 1/4 (~125 lbs) about 4 cubic feet 1/2 (~250 lbs) about 8 cubic feet Whole (~500 lbs) about 16 cubic feet
  • How do I know what cuts I can get?
    Each processor varies a little but when you call in your cut up order, the processor is the best one to discuss what cuts you can get and how many. You can have your share of beef cut anyway you like.
  • How long after placing an order for a side of beef, can I expect to get my meat?"
    If the steer goes into Ebels, it takes about 2 to 4 weeks to get your meat back from the date the animal goes in. If the steer goes to Mackersies, it takes about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks to get your meat back from the date the animal goes in.
  • How is the meat packaged?
    The burger is placed into round tubes, that can be 1 lb packages, 1 1/2 lb packages or 2 lb packages. The steaks and roast are all vacuumed sealed in clear packages.
